Placer Community Action Council, Inc. has been known as KidZKount since 2001. In 2018, we changed our DBA to KidZCommunity. The name change was fashioned to more accurately reflect our mission and the services we offer with a renewed commitment to our partners and the communities we serve. Since 1959, the agency has been providing early learning and comprehensive services for eligible children and their families.
Follow us on social media and visit our website regularly to see what we offer with our continued commitment to Placer and Nevada Counties.
Four of our parents who were elected as our new Policy Council Officers were able to attend the NHSA 2019 Winter Leadership Institute in Washington DC. The institute gave the parents an opportunity to learn about Head Start at the national level and network with peers. From there they went to Capitol Hill to meet with our local representatives and their staff from Placer and Nevada Counties to share their personal story along with their gratitude for supporting the Head Start program at KidZCommunity, Placer Community Action Council, Inc.
KidZCommunity (PCAC) has embarked on a partnership with Whole Foods to provide high quality nutrient dense lunches for our Foresthill Head Start center. Our nutrition staff collaborated with the catering team to ensure that children are served meals that satisfy the USDA requirements for 3-5 year old children.
Whole Foods Market and PCAC are working together to deliver the food and to maintain the high quality for which Whole Food Market is known for, and KidZCommunity desires. We hope to expand this partnership to other sites in the coming years.
Special thanks to Shari Holmes and Stephen Zamora from the Roseville Galleria Whole Foods store for their passion and hard work!
